酒池肉林 |
In Japan, there is a proverb as following "SHU-CHI-NIKU-RIN". "SHU" means alcohol, "CHI" means pond, "NIKU" means meat, and "RIN" means woods. In total, this means the extreme of luxury banquet.
In Las Vegas where we visit last week, we experienced this situation. On that night after we finished playing gamble, two of us won the money and we bought alcohols to bring our room. We 6 people drank 3 bottles of beer and 3 bottles of wine with some snacks.
After a while, everybody got drunk except two sobrieties. Further a while, two drunken appeared in our room. They lost their mind completely but they kept us laughing all night long. They were really funny and crazy (in good means). I was surprized with thought of "People can be crazy so much!!" when I saw them.
Come to think of it, before we came back our hotel, we went to see the sunrise. It was really touching sight and unforgettable event. Actually, the sunset I saw in Key West was more beautiful than this in Las Vegas but the reason I felt I was really impressed as much as Key West was surely the existence of my fellows. If I saw the sunrise alone, I never felt this emotion.
In my conclusion, I could have a precious time in Las Vegas, which never fades. This made me really happy and this was "SHU-CHI-NIKU-RIN".

日本には次のような諺があります。「酒池肉林」という諺で、酒の池、肉をかけた林、ということで贅沢極まりない酒宴という意味です。
先週訪れたラスベガスで、この諺のような状況に遭遇しました。その日の夜、ギャンブルを終えて一緒に行った6人の内、2人が勝ったので、酒を買って部屋に戻りました。6人で3本のビールと3本のワインをスナックとともにあけました。
しばらくして、二人のしらふをのぞいてみんな酔っ払い、またしばらくすると、2人の泥酔者が部屋に現れました。二人とも完全に自分を失っていたものの、一晩中二人がみんなを笑わせ続けてくれました。二人とも本当におもしろく、狂っていました(良い意味で・・・)。二人を見て、「人はこんなにも狂えるんだなぁ！！」と驚いたものです。
そういえば、部屋に戻る前に日の出を見に行ったのですが、それがとても感動的で(日本にいた頃に見ていた「あいのり」の旅をしているような感じがしました、"あいのり"で見る夕陽とか朝陽ってこんな気分なんだろうか？と思わずにはいられないほど、綺麗な朝陽で)、忘れることのできない思い出になりました。実際にはキー・ウェストで見た夕陽とかのほうが綺麗なんだろうけど、それと同じくらいに感動的な気持ちになったのはやはり旅の仲間の存在があったからでしょう。もし自分1人で日の出を見ても、決してこんな気持ちにはならなかっただろうから・・・。
というわけで、ラスベガスで決して色褪せることのない貴重な時間を過ごすことができ、とても幸せな気分になれました。これぞ、まさに"酒池肉林"か？
