By the way, this new story is about the lovers; one guy retraces past happy time nursing his girl friend who had been run over and then became comatose. There were various kinds of scenes such as quarrel, slap, sob, and bed scene. Besides these situations, I required them to speak some lines, therefore they did a lot of efforts to make this film well.
Moreover, it was really hard to change their minds within two days shooting because they needed to show all kinds of their emotions due to the story. I was really surprised at their performances. At first, it was OK when I signed OK and we started to shoot another scene. As time went on, they requested re-take after they review their action until they were satisfied with their performance. To tell the truth, I didn't expect such a great performance, however it became greater work than I had expected due to their persistence as an actor.

Through this shooting, I could learn the importance of communication between director and actors. I thought this shooting taught me how to make environment that we have to understand ours ideas each other, and if actors idea is better, director take their idea instead of his own idea.
I hope I can make new film that exceeds last one with the experience that I learned. If I learned how to make a movie and pleasure of shooting in the last shooting, this time I realized what is the actor.

さて、今回の作品は簡単にストーリーを紹介すると、冒頭で車に轢かれ、植物状態になってしまった彼女を看病しながら、昔の幸せだった頃の二人を回想していくというストーリです。口論するシーンあり、ビンタするシーンあり、彼氏が泣くシーンあり、ベッド･シーンあり、・・・といろんな設定のシーンがあり、さらに台詞もあるということで、役者さんには非常に頑張ってもらったと思います。
しかも2日間の撮影の中で、いわゆる喜怒哀楽の感情をすべて表現してもらうストーリーになっていたため、気持ちの切り替えという意味でも大変だったと思います。そんな中、主演二人の役者魂には驚かされました。最初の頃はこちらがOKを出せば、次のシーンの撮影に移ったのですが、途中からは撮影したシーンを見直して、納得の行く演技になるまで撮り直しをリクエストするようになりました。正直、そこまでの演技は期待していなかったのですが、二人の役者魂のおかげもあって、自分としては期待以上の仕上がりになりました。

今回の撮影を通して、役者と監督のコミュニケーションの重要さみたいなものも学ぶことができました。こちらの意図を理解してもらい、かつ役者の考えをこちらも理解する、そして向こうのアイデアの方が良いと思ったときには自分のアイデアを捨てて、そちらを採用するといったような雰囲気作りというのも、今回の撮影を通して教えられたように思います。
次回からも、毎回前回の経験を活かして、前作を常に上回る作品を作っていけたらなぁと思います。前作が"撮影のイロハ"と"撮影の醍醐味"を教えられたとすれば、今回は"役者魂"というものの存在を痛感させられた撮影でした。
