There were some Christmas illuminations in Los Angeles. There was a Christmas tree in front of KODAK theater, which is really symbolizing Hollywood with film reels and film itself. I can find some other illuminations but it was not so beautiful compared to Japanese one. As I wrote in "column" corner, Japanese Christmas illumination is really sophisticated and marvelous and it is quite large in scale, which is aimed at attracting people to some place such as Kobe's Luminarie. Therefore, Los Angeles illumination is inferior to Japanese one.

However, I can enjoy Christmas illumination in Los Angeles because people show their emotion of happiness lookin at the illumination nevertheless it is small in scale.
I wish all of you can enjoy each Christmas in each place!

ロスでもいくつかクリスマス・イルミネーションが見られます。コダック･シアターの前にいかにもハリウッドらしい、フィルム・リールとフィルムを使ったクリスマス・ツリーがあります。他にもいくつかイルミネーションはあるのですが、日本のそれと比べるとそれほど綺麗ではありません。「コラム」のコーナーで書いたように日本のクリスマス・イルミネーションは神戸のルミナリエのように客寄せが目的(当初は震災被災後の復興の象徴として始まった・・・)になっており、規模が大きく、とても洗練されていて、素晴らしい。それ故にロサンゼルスのイルミネーションは日本のそれに比べて見劣りしてしまいます。

とは言うものの、ロサンゼルスのイルミネーションを楽しんでます。というのは規模が小さくても、イルミネーションを見ている人が幸せそうな表情を見せてくれるからです。
