It was Cinema 6 that I thought I could extend my film-making skill the most.
There were 2 assignments of photographs at first, which let me learn the constructure of the photograph.
After that, we were assigned three movie assignments.
First one was something new in daily life, which teacher named as "Treasure Hunting." In short, we have to shoot the things that is interesting to see from the different angle that is unusual way of seeing. This assignment was not so difficult. The sense of each student was the most important thing for this assignment.
Second was lighting.
We have to shoot a person who is walking for one minute focusing on lighting. The hardest thing of this assignment was walking. When we see the TV drama or movie, lighting is not so hard because the image is shot in same position, I mean, camera doesn't move so much. However, this time I, camera, also have to move following walking person. Therefore, it was really tough thing to set the light position.
The last one was reflection using mirror and glass. The difficult point was how not to take the camera in the frame. It is easy to shoot mirror but it is also difficult. Let's think, if we stand in front of mirror, our face is seen in the mirror. So change the human into camera. Do you understand how difficult to shoot something without reflection of camera?
I could get all "A" for these three assignments. I think I can finish this Cinema 6 safely (I have final exam next week).

今学期、取った授業の中で、映画に関して、自分がもっとも進歩したなぁと思うクラスがCinema6。
最初は写真の課題が2つあり、写真の構図のノウハウについて学んだ。
その後、動画の撮影に課題が変わる。全部で3つの課題が自分たちに課された。
まず1つ目の課題。
日常に潜む新発見。その名も「宝探し」。簡単に言うと、普段何気なく見ているものを角度を変えて見たら、こんなにも面白く見えるんだ！という映像を撮ること。これは特に何が難しいということはなく、生徒それぞれのセンスがものを言う課題だった。
2つ目の課題は、ライティング。
歩いている人を1分間程度の映像に収め、かつ、ライティングを意識した映像とすること。この課題の難点は歩くということ。よく見るTVドラマや映画のライティングというのは、カメラ固定で撮っているので、一度ライトの位置を決めてしまえば、後は楽なのだが、今回の課題はカメラも歩いている人を追う・・・、ということで、カメラの動く位置を念頭に入れながらライトの位置を決めるということで、なかなか難しかった。
そして最後の課題。
鏡やガラスを利用した「反射」。この課題の難しいところは、いかにしてカメラを画面の中に映しこまないか。鏡を撮るのは簡単といえば、簡単だが、実は難しい。簡単に言えば、鏡の前に立つと自分の顔が鏡に映る。それがカメラに変わったと考えれば、カメラを映さずに映像を撮るのが難しいか？ということがわかっていただけるのではないだろうか？
一応、3つの課題とも"A"の成績をゲットし、無事Cinema6を終えられそう(来週期末試験がある・・・)な今日この頃。
