The end of last year, December 28th, I went to see NBA match (Los Angeles Lakers vs Memphis Grizzlies) to clebrate a friend of mine who loves Basketball. 1 and half years have passed since I came here USA, and this was my first experience to go to the 4 major sports in USA.

The difference between basketball and other sports such as baseball and soccer, was the price of the ticket. The range of the price for the ticket of baseball or soccer begins from about $20 and end around $70, $80, or $100 at maximum (ofcource World Cup Soccer is exception).
However, I was surprised at the price of NBA. The cheapest is just as same as baseball or soccer but the closest seat to the coat costs more than $500.

Entering STAPLES CENTER, the location of the game would be held, I knew the reason of this ridiculous price. There is fence those height is as same as human waist, which is surrounding the coat. Then the audience seats are set up radiationally toward the ceiling just a few feets away from the fence. And the most closest seat is not outside of the fence but is inside of the fence!!
It can't be helped that the ticket would be expensive. To be Continued!

昨年末の12月28日、バスケットボール大好きな友人の誕生日祝いにNBA(ロサンゼルス・レイカーズ vs メンフィス・グリズリーズ)を観に行ってきました。アメリカに来て1年半。初めての4大メジャー観戦です(野球、バスケ、ホッケー、アメフトがこっちでは4大スポーツ)。

サッカーや野球と違った点は、まずチケットの値段。野球やサッカーにおいて(サッカーはJリーグであっても、ヨーロッパの試合であっても)チケットの価格差は大体2000円から高くて7、8千円、あるいは1万円といったところ(無論W杯は別物)。
しかし、今回NBAのチケットの価格を聞いて驚いた。安いのは2000円くらいで野球やサッカーと同じだが、最前列などは5万円以上するらしい!!

その理由は会場であるSTAPLES CENTERに入ってみてわかった。コートの外側を囲むように腰くらいの高さの柵があって、その外側数ｍくらいのところから観客席が放射状に上へと向かっている。そしてその最前列は柵の外ではなく、柵の内側なのだ！！
それは高くなるのも仕方がない。 To be Continued!
