As for No.1 in Japan and the other Nagoya specialty, is traffic accident. Aichi always compete No.1 with Hokkaido in the number of death in traffic accident. Aichi had been No.2 or No.3 for past 13 years. Finally, Aichi came back to No.1 last year. I can imagine why Hokkaido becomes No.1 because Hokkaido has long-straight road and people make it faster and faster.
But why Aichi become No.1? I think this is due to the tacit approval. According to regular traffic rule, we must prepare for stop on yellow signal and we stop on red signal. In broad-minded rule (this is also tacit approval), we should prepare for stop on red and we stop till the opposite signal becomes blue. But in Aichi, we'll keep going till the opposite signal becomes blue. This is lie.
I mean, this is not true in some sense but this is true in some sense. I think if both drivers are people who live in Aichi never make a traffic accident because both of them know this tacit rule. Therefore, I think the case that make traffic accident is due to the case that one of them is from Aichi while another is from other area. Because people from other area don't know this rule.

So, I wrote a lot of Nagoya's specialty this time. In fact, I have much more things to write but I'll finish this time. I'd like to write again next time.

全国1位といえば、そして名古屋名物といえば、もう1つ忘れてはならないのが、交通事故。都道府県別交通事故死者数で常に北海道と1位を争いつつ、13年間2位と3位を彷徨っていて、昨年ついに1位に返り咲いた。北海道が1位と言うのは、皆さんもなんとなくイメージがわくでしょう。なんてたって、広くてまっすぐな道が続いているのだから・・・。
しかし、なぜに愛知？これは暗黙の交通ルールが原因でしょうか？通常の交通ルールなら、黄色は注意して止まる準備をして、赤で止まれ。ちょっとおおらかなルールの県なら(おおらかと言っても、これまた暗黙の了解でって意味です)、黄色がなくて、赤で注意して、対抗信号が青になるまでに止まれ。しかし愛知は対抗信号が青になるまで行け！です(嘘です・・・)。
ここまで書くと大袈裟かもしれないが、そんな風潮が間違いなくあります。だから、自分が思うに、愛知県民同士の場合は事故らないんです。お互いがその暗黙のルールを知ってるから。だから、事故るのは愛知県民と他県民が交差点で出会った場合だと思うんです。他県の人はそんなルール知らないからね。

というわけで、名古屋名物(愛知名物)について、長々と書いてきました。実際のところ、まだまだ書き足りませんが、今回はこのあたりで・・・。また機会があれば、書いてみたいと思います。
