Last Thursday, I attended the awarding ceremony for Honor Roll students. The system is like this; student who gets higher than 3.5 of the average of GPA of each semester is rewarded with Dean's Honor while student who continues Dean's Honor in 3 successive semester gets President's Distinguished Honor. This time, I was awarded with President's Distinguished Honor.
There was no awarding ceremony like this when I went to Nagoya University, so it was really fun for me. When I was in middle and high school, there was a paper that told me what ranking I was as I was some out of 300 students. Therefore, I tried to study hard as to make my rank higher and the result also made me study much harder. According to this good cycle, I climbed up the mountain of the grade. However, there was no result for the test in university, and they just gave us the grade in "Well Done, Good, OK, No Good", which didn't tell me where I was compared with other students. So I didn't study hard at that time.
