June, 2012 is a big month for soccer fan. Since EURO will happen, which is the 2nd biggest event following World Cup. It is the European version of the Asia Cup that Japan won championship. There are a lot of strong teams such as World Cup champion Spain, 2nd place Netherland, 3rd place Germany.

The favorites are these three countries. Spain and Germany played the final of last EURO 2008 and Spain won at that time.
However Germany won three time championships and they're trying to get 4th championship beside the revenge of the final of EURO 2008 and the semi-final of World Cup 2010.

Also there is Asian final preliminary for World Cup 2014 and Japanese soccer fan will have sleepless nights.

2012年6月。サッカー･ファンにとってはとても嬉しい月である。というのはサッカー界ではW杯に次ぐ規模のイベントである欧州選手権EUROが開催されるからである。昨年、日本が優勝したアジア杯のヨーロッパ版である。2010年W杯を制したスペインを筆頭に同2位のオランダ、同3位のドイツなど強豪国が目白押しである。

今大会の優勝候補は上記3カ国であるが、スペインとドイツは2008年のEUROでも決勝を戦っており、その時はスペインが勝利し、優勝している。
しかしドイツはこの大会過去最多3度の優勝国であり、今回4度目の栄冠＋前回大会、そして2010年W杯準決勝での雪辱に燃えている。

さらに日本のサッカー・ファンにとってはW杯ブラジル大会の最終予選もあり、来月は眠れない日々が続きそうだ。
