Hello!!
This time, I'll show you my classes of UCR(University of Clifornia Riverside) Extension.
I'm not in trouble on daily life because this is not my first stay in U.S.A. I was looking forward to attending lectures before I did, but it is really tough to follow classes although it is interesting honestly.
UPP, my cource, has 3 3classes in the morning and 2 classes in the afternoon. I take Speaking, Reading and Writing in the morning and these are all preparation classes for entering university. For instance, I am required to do presentation in the Speaking class. This week's assignment is to interview with at least 2 Americans about University life in U.S.A. and do presentation in th class. I've never had homework like this in Japan, so I'm confused how to talk to American whom I don't know.
The rest of classes in the morning are Reading and Writing. But there is no difference between both of these two classes. One teacher manages these classes.
In the afternoon, I have two classes. One of them is "Academic Skill", another is elective class. In th "Academic Skill" class, I learned skill of Notetaking this week but what teacher said was so fast that I couldn't catch up with his saying in detail. So I couldn't take note. By the way, other courses menu except UPP are grammar and vocabulary and so on.
The last class is elective class. This class is for students who got a certain score in the fast test and student can choose one class among some classes which are offered. I really enjoy my class "English through film" because I came U.S.A. to studu film. This class is goingwith stopping videotape little by little, scene by scene and we learn phrass used in the scene. We are planning to see 4 or 5 movies in 10weeks, 40 hours.
I hope my English skill will be improved after this 10-week program and make good relationship with my classmate.
