父の日 |
Yesterday it was Father's day in U.S.A. But it was not similar to Japanese father's day(=Chichi-no-hi). We Japanese send some present like neck-tie. In here, they also send some present like handkerchief or purse, etc. But there is nothing more than sending present in Japan (Except some rare cace). But here in America, there is something not only sending present.
There was a barbeque party yesterday. And I saw it.
Children playing basketball (even if they are in junior high or high school) saids "Happy father's day!" and they played together. This is unbelievable in Japan. If only small children and their father play together, it might be happened ( I can imagine playing baseball together). But high school students never play with their father. So yesterday was so astonishing day for me!!

昨日、アメリカは父の日でした。でも日本の「父の日」と同じではありませんでした。我々日本人はネクタイのようなプレゼントを贈るのが定番です。ここでもハンカチや財布のようなプレゼントを贈ります。しかし日本ではプレゼントを贈る以上のことというのはない(例外を除いて)。しかし、ここアメリカではそれ以上の何かがありました。
昨日、バーベキュー・パーティーがあって、そこでそれを見ました。
バスケをしていた中学生や高校生たちが「ハッピー・ファザーズ・デイ！」と言って、一緒にバスケをするのを見てしまった！日本ではありえない！！もし小さい子供と父親が一緒に遊ぶのなら、キャッチボールをしている姿を想像することができるけど、高校生が父親と一緒に遊ぶなんて、ありえない！！というわけで、昨日はとても驚きの一日となりました。
