放課後の生活 |
Today, I would like to introduce my after-school life.
Normally, I go to the lounge in our school building and meet with friends and do assignments. After finishing assignments, we go to Starbucks Coffee, movie theater, friends room in IV(Inteernational Village), or have a English conversation with native speaker.
At first, when I go to Starbucks, some of my friends accompany and chat about something trivia.
Secondly, when I go to see a movie, I have two choices. One of them is the theater near school where I can see a movie with $5.25 before 6 pm everyday. The other is the theater near my house where I can see a movie with $4.00 every Tuesday and every first show.
Thirdly, when I go to IV, which is the most frequent case, I and my friends talk about many things like, school life, English, relationship of Japanese, music, and our future. Otherwise, we play guitar or we cook something or have a party. For exapmle, last week we have a birthday party to suprise a friend. (It cost more than $100 but it was really enjoyable time.)
Finally, when we have a English conversation, we go to somewhere and talk something in English with native speaker. In my case, my conversation partner is 17 years boy who originally from Russia and go to UCR to double major in anthropologu and biology after skipping his third year in his high school. I have two session per week with him, Wednesday & Friday. On Wednesday he teaches me the difference between two similar pronounciation, which is difficult for most Japanese, like "r" & "l" and "h" & "f". On Friday, we eat lunch together and he tell me some English games. He looks like a clever person who is 17 but is in freshman in an university, but sometimes he looks like a real 17, in conclusion, he is a really good guy.
These are my normal after-school life.

本日は放課後の生活について書いていきたいと思います。
だいたいいつも学校のラウンジで友達と会い、宿題を片付けます。宿題が終わるとスターバックスに行ったり、映画を見たり、IV(International Village)の友達の部屋に行ったり、現地の人と英語で話をしたりします。
まず、スタバに行くときは何人かの友達と一緒に行き、ささいなことを話しあっています。
次に映画を見に行くときは二つの選択肢があります。学校の近くで6時前までに5ドル25セントを払ってみるか、家の近所で毎週火曜か毎朝初回を4ドルで見るかです。
続いて、IVに行くとき(最も頻度が高いのがこれです・・・)は、友達と一緒に学校生活や英語、日本人同士の人間関係、音楽、将来などについて語り合います。もしくはギターを弾いたり、何か調理をしたり、パーティをしたりします。例えば先週は友人を驚かせるために誕生日パーティをしました。(1万円を超える結構な費用がかかってしまいましたが、楽しいパーティーになりました)
そして、最後の英会話ですが、どこかへ行き、ネイティブと英語で会話をします。自分の場合は、17歳のロシア出身の男の子で高校3年生を飛び級して現在UCRで人類学と生物学のダブル・メジャーをしています。毎週水曜と金曜の2回、相手をしてもらっています。水曜は日本人の苦手な「r」と「l」、もしくは「h」や「f」といった類似した発音の違いを教えてもらっています。金曜は昼食を一緒に食べながら、英語のゲームを教えてもらったりしています。17歳でありながら大学1年生という頭脳明晰な一面を持っているかと思うと、急に17歳の雰囲気に戻ったり、彼は本当に良い奴です。
