The other day, I went to LACC (my next school) to register my classes, and I found it difficult.
With the syllbus, I have to check if there are any prerequisites for take particular class or not, and check if it overlaps with another class or not. These are what I had done in Japan and these are almost same with Japanese university system except doing procedure in English and differing from native students as being an international student, which made me tired morally. (It may be an improper expression, I thought that the syllabus in my Japanese university was easier to understand depending on major than the American syllabus.)

According to these procedure, I narrowed possibilities to two choices.
One choice is another home-stay, where locates in Carson and 1 hour by bus. (The current host-family introduced me the home-stay.) The other is sharing an apartment where is so close to my next school.
If I choose the home-stay, it costs $650 including foods and tranportation and it takes 1hour to the school by bus. If I choose the sharing apartment, it costs $450 + foods + other expenses like laundry, electricity, and etc and it takes 5 minutes walk to the school. If expenses for foods, and other costs can be lower than $200, home-stay will be cheaper and it'll also be my choice, in considering it took 1 hour to my office or school everyday in Japan.

I remember, I found the YOSHINOYA near my next school! (YOSHINOYA is a Japanese famouse fast food restraunt selling beef-bowl.) I hadn't eaten beef-bowl for a long time in Japan, therefore I went to YOSHINOYA in Hollywood (when I came LA in my school days, I used to go there), and I found the shop had closed down already. I thought YOSHINOYA withdrew from U.S.A. due to Mad Cow Disease, but there was YOSHINOYA which locatin was so convenient, 5 minutes from my school, which made me astonished!! I went to eat beef-bowl at once. The taste was same with Japanese one but the amount is larger than Japanese and there are some menu which we can't find in Japan like chicken-bowl and vegetable-bowl. By way of parenthesis, the one in the photo was sesame-chiken, we call it "TEBASAKI".

These days, I think the study of cinema will begin in three weeks.

先日、先週に引き続きLACC(次の学校)に行って、授業の登録をしてきたのですが、日本とは違って大変だなと思いました。
自分でシラバスを見て、登録前にその科目を取るのに事前に必要なクラスがないかどうかを確認したり、他のクラスとかぶったりしないかどうかを確認したり、よくよく考えてみれば日本でもやってきたことであり、英語で手続きを行うという点と、International Studentということで、通常の学生とは手続きの手段が違うという点を除けば、日本の大学とほぼ一緒のはずなのにかなり精神的に疲れました。(しいて言えば名大の時はシラバスを隅から隅までチェックしなくても、学部毎にわかりやすいシラバスだったなと、こっちのを見て思いました!!)

それに伴い、次の滞在先も候補を二つに絞りました。
一つは今のホストファミリーの知人の家で学校から1時間くらいのCarsonでホームステイか、学校のすぐ側のアパートをシェアするか？の二つです。
ホームステイだと食費込みで$650で学校まで1時間のバス旅行。アパートだと$450＋食費＋洗濯などの雑費で、学校までは徒歩5分。日本にいたときに通勤時間や通学時間が1時間かかっていたことを思えば、食費などが2万円以内で収まれば、そっちのほうが安いから、そっちにしようかなと考え中。

そういえば、学校の側に吉野家を発見しました！！日本では久しく牛丼を食べていないため、こっちに来てすぐの頃に、ハリウッドにあったはず(学生時代に一人旅をしていた際は幾度となくお世話になった)の吉野家に行ったら、つぶれていたので、狂牛病のせいでアメリカからは撤退したのかと思っていたのですが、学校から歩いて5分という便利な場所に発見できるとは正直、驚きでした！というわけで、早速食べに行ってきました。味は日本と変わらない牛丼ですが、量が多いです。あと日本には存在しないメニューがいくつかあるのも魅力ですね。例えば、チキン丼やベジタブル丼など。ちなみに写真に写っているのはセサミ・チキンという名の、まぁ要するに手羽先です。

とりあえず、3週間したらいよいよ映画の勉強が始まるんだと思う今日この頃です。
