On Saturday, I inveited four friends from Riverside to run around the city of Los Angeles. Starting with shooting at Walt Disney Concert Hall, I made two main actors keep running according to the theme "CHASE" during shooting at a kind of live place in the city, at a bridge connecting two buildings, at emergency stairs in skyscraper, at rooftop of the building which was far away from downtown, and at parking lot to use a car.
Though I did camera test beforehand, I made take 2 and take 3 and shot same scene again and again to record from different angles and different image sizes (for example zoom-in, zoom-out). This made actors run same place again and again, they seemed to get muscle pains (I really appreciate for your cooperation).
However we could move smoothly between each place due to location-hunting in advance (if I didn't do location-hunting, it was impossible to finish shooting scheduled scenes).
We were asked whether we had a permission to shoot many times, which made me realize that shooting at Los Angeles is made up as a business (then everybody call this city as "capital of movie"). The reason I mentioned business is that we have to get a permission and pay even if we are students. (This law was withdrawn one week before we shot. Thank you governor Schwarzenegger!!) It was surely strange for others to see running with knife and to see the person having used ketchup, especially in case we shoot from far away.
Next day, we shot live scene and the scene two main characters encountered at Riverside with extra. I could finish scheduled shooting in one hour as planned because everybody was busy, one of them was in test term. (I want to appreciate for good performances of extra.)
At last, we shot the scene leading character jumped off the rooftop (it was actually the wall with height 1 meter). I made his muscle pains worse with jumping again and again, but thanks to his good performance, I could get a wonderful visions. I want to say thank you with all my heart.
