Second, since all of us were the Las Vegas repeater, we extended our trip in a suburb this time. We went to Red Rock Canyon where I myself visited for the first time. In spite of the distance just 20-30 minutes far from the center of the Las Vegas, here was the good unknown spot, which was seldom on the Japanese tourist guide.
We didn't pay entrance fee to enter the park because there was no one on the entrance. I don't know the reason whether because it was just 30 minutes before the park close or because it was the New Year's Day. There was one-way circular road in the park and we could see the reddish brown plateau, which can be seen in the cartoon "Dragon Ball" along the road, and some parking lots were on the road to enjoy rock climbing, and we enjoyed "first" climbing. It was really wonderful view to see from on the road, and it was also nice from the top of the rock, besides, we could see the city lights of Las Vegas around the time of sunset.

次に全員がラスベガス・リピーターだったこともあり、今回は郊外にも足を伸ばしました。私自身も初めて訪れる場所である"レッド・ロック・キャニオン"を訪れました。ここはラスベガスの中心街からでも車で20〜30分くらいで行けるにも関わらず、日本の観光雑誌にはあまり紹介されていない穴場スポットです。
今回は訪れたのが閉演30分前だったからなのか？はたまた新年初日だったからなのか？わかりませんが、料金ゲートには誰もいなかったため、入場無料で公園に入ることができました。園内は一方通行の周遊道路が整備されており、そこを走るようになっています。道路沿いにはドラゴン・ボールに出てきそうな赤茶けた大地が広がり、所々に駐車場があり、岩登りを楽しめるようになっていて、"初"登りをしてきました。公園内の道路から見る景色も素晴らしいのですが、登った岩の上から見える景色も素晴らしく、さらに日が沈み始めるとラスベガスのネオンも見え、一度で三度も楽しむことができます。
