Zico's 4 years have done. I think Zico's tactics, "respect for personal ability" was not bad as a tactics, if it was for countries that has high personal ability such as Brazil or Argentina... But as we could know from today's game, Japan doesn't have such ability, it is low. Ex-coach of Japan, Troussier's way that he established rule and let players follow it, matched for Japan in the respect of Japanese nature.

So next is what? I think everybody focuses on who is next coach. Japan football association regard Arsene Wenger as the most favorite, who is current coach of Arsenal in England Premiere League and he was also coach of Nagoya Grampus in Japan J League once before. But he contracted with Arsenal till 2008, so he can be coach of Japan after 2008 (there was a progress that Wenger recommended ex-coach Troussier).

Personally, I wish that Hiddink will be the next. He led Australia to final stage and he also led Korea to best 4 in last World Cup.

By the way, as the result of today, Brazil and Australia decided to go to final stage from group F and Brazil will compete against Ghana while Australia will do against Italy.

これでジーコ日本の4年間が終了した。ジーコの戦術＝個の尊重というのは、悪くはない。それがブラジルやアルゼンチンのような"個"の能力が高いチームであれば・・・。しかし、今日の試合を見てわかるように日本は決して"個"の能力が高いわけではない、むしろ低い。そういうチームにはやはり、規律を作って、それに従うという前監督のトルシエ流のやり方があっている。日本人の性格的にも、そのほうがあっていると思う。

こうなると次の代表監督が誰になるのか？ということに注目が集まると思うのだが、日本サッカー協会はベンゲル監督(現在はイングランド、プレミア・リーグのアーセナルというチームの監督で、かつては名古屋グランパスの監督だった)を第1候補として考えているらしいが、アーセナルとの契約が2008年まで残っているので、ベンゲルが日本の監督になるとすると2008年以降(実はトルシエ監督もベンゲルの推薦で決まったという経緯がある)。

個人的には今回のオーストラリアを決勝トーナメント進出に、そして前回の韓国をベスト4に導いたヒディング監督にお願いしたいものだが、どうだろうか？

さて、今日の試合の結果、ブラジルとオーストラリアがグループFの代表となり、ブラジルはガーナ、オーストラリアはイタリアと、それぞれベスト16で対決する。 Last ： Next
