Day 15. Half of all the games and all the games of group league were over and best 16 were all decided.
Breakdown best 16 is 10 from Europe, 3 from South America, and 1 from each Africa, North and Central America & Caribbean, and Oceania. In opposite, breakdown of lost teams is 4 from each Europe, Africa, and Asia, and 2 from each North and Central America & Carribean, and South America.

All 4 Asian countries are wiped out. In total of these 4 countries, 1-victory, 4-draw, and 7-loss. This is ashamed record. Last time, Asia hosted World Cup and Japan went to best 16 while Korea went to best 4. But judging from this result, we have to say the difference between Asia and world are so big.
From next tournament, Australia will participate in Asian preliminary as Asian country but I feel a touch of uneasiness that the Asian limit will be reduced from 4 to 3.

On the other hand, African countries who showed even games with strong countries ended as 4 out of 5 countries lost in group league (3-victory, 3-draw, and 9-loss).

Although, it became 21st century but the era of two strong powers of both Europe and South America still keep going.
By the way, the final stage will begin tomorrow and loser should have to go home.
I wish Germany or England will rest till final game!!

大会15日目。大会も半分が終わり、今日、グループ･リーグの全日程が終了し、べスト16が出揃った。
内訳を見てみると、ヨーロッパ10カ国、南米3カ国、そしてアフリカ、北中米、オセアニアがそれぞれ1カ国ずつの計16カ国だ。逆に敗退したチームの内訳はヨーロッパ、アフリカ、そしてアジアが4カ国、北中米、南米がそれぞれ2カ国だ。

というわけで、アジアは全滅。4チームの合計勝敗数を見ても、1勝4分7敗。なんともふがいない成績だ。前回は地元開催ということで、日本がベスト16、韓国がベスト4と奮闘したが、今回の結果を見る限り、やはりアジアと世界の差は大きいといわざるを得ない。
次回からはオーストラリアがアジア枠として、地区予選から参戦するものの、アジア枠が今回の4から3に減らされるんじゃないか？という一抹の不安がよぎる。

一方、試合を見る限りでは強豪国と互角以上の戦いを演じていたアフリカ勢も終わってみれば5か国中4カ国がリーグ敗退(3勝3分9敗)といった結果に終わった。

21世紀に入ったものの、やはりまだまだヨーロッパと南米の2強時代が続くようです。
さて、明日からはいよいよ、負けたら終わりの決勝トーナメントです。
無事、ドイツ、あるいはイングランドが決勝まで辿り着きますように・・・。
