And final... Italy lost only 1 goal so far while France lost 2 goals. Both team are proud of good defense. As far as judging from the content of semi-final, Italy was better than France. But if France can show the overwhelming performance in quarter-final against Brazil, France can make advantage.
For Italy, they want to won 4th championship passing Germany tieing with 3-time championship right now. West Germany won it in World Cup 1990 Italy. So if Italy won this time, it'll be the opposite way.
On the other hand, France could succeed with the 4-4-1-1 formation, setting Zidane to 2nd line. If they put Zidane to 2nd line of the formation 4-4-2 or 4-5-1, Zidane who is age 34 must run for both offense and defense. But he can concentrate on offense only putting himself to 2nd line of 4-4-1-1 formation, which brought various patterns of attacking. In the Game with Brazil, Zidane overwhelemed for himself.
However, it was true that he couldn't do well in semi-final due to fatigue. So Zidane's recovery in final will French fortune.

そして決勝戦。ここまで1失点のイタリアと2失点のフランス。堅守のチーム同士の戦いになりました。準決勝の戦いを見る限りではイタリアのほうが内容は良かったが、準々決勝のブラジル戦で見せた圧倒的なプレーをジダンが見せることができれば、フランスが有利だ。
イタリアとしては3回で並ぶドイツを抜いて4回目の優勝を勝ち取りたい。90年イタリア大会の時は西ドイツが優勝しており、今回イタリアが優勝すれば、その逆になるという面白いことになる。
一方のフランスだが、ここ2試合、4-4-1-1というフォーメーションの2列目にジダン1人だけを配置したのが強さの秘訣だ。仮に4-4-2、あるいは4-5-1の2列目にジダンをおいたのでは、34歳のジダンが攻守ともに働かなければいけなくなるが、4-4-1-1の2列目ということで攻撃に専念できるようになり、攻撃の幅が広がったのだ。ブラジル戦ではジダン1人であのブラジルを制圧していたほどだ。
とはいえ、準決勝では疲労のためかそこまでの働きができなかったのも事実で、決勝戦でジダンがどこまで体力が回復しているかがフランスの生命線となる。
