"MANTIS" Shooting =Day3= |

MANTIS撮影 〜3日目〜 |
Today was the last day of the shooting "MANTIS". I gathered shooting team earlier than the planned time and we recovered the delay by yesterday. However, some of actors and staffs were late as usual(?), so I wondered if it repeated same thing with yesterday. But we caught up the delay by adopting the idea from a director of photography to reduce the number of cuts. Therefore, we could finish on time.
Today's happening was only more than 2 hours late of one of actors who supposed to come at 8:30am. There was a pleasing happening that understudy actress was better than the original actress who was involved in an accident.
This actress made a great progress on both acting and appearance, and I could get wonderful image than I had imagined. In opposite, it can be said that it was my insufficiency that I couldn't comprehend its potential.
Although it was only 3 days shooting this time, it was great shooting for me. I'd like to finish editing as soon as possible but I have to finish other editing that are paid job. So it might be the beginning of February in fastest case.

「MANTIS」撮影最終日。今日は昨日撮り忘れた、あるいは撮り切れなかったシーンを撮影するために、撮影部の人たちには予定よりも早めに来てもらい、昨日までの遅れを取り戻したものの、いつもどおり(?)その他のスタッフと役者が遅れたため、昨日の悪夢再現か？という考えが一瞬、頭をよぎったものの、その後、撮影監督のアイデアでカット数を減らし、大幅に遅れをカバーし、予定通り終了することができた。
今日のハプニングと言えば、8時半に来るはずの役者が2時間以上の遅刻をしたことくらいだろうか？当初予定していた役者が事故に巻き込まれたために、急遽変わってもらった役者さんが、当初予定していた役者さんよりも良かったという嬉しいハプニングもあった。
この役者さん、オーディションの時と比べて、演技も見た目も大幅にレベルアップしていて、自分が予想していた以上に良い絵が撮れました。逆に考えれば、オーディションの時にその役者さんのポテンシャルを、そこまでのものだと読みきれなかった自分の力不足とも言えますが・・・。
今回はわずか3日間の撮影でしたが、個人的にはかなり満足のいく撮影でした。早く編集を終わらせたいところですが、お金の発生している他の仕事の編集を先に終わらせる必要があるため、「MANTIS」の編集が終わるのは早くても2月上旬といったところでしょうか？
