Ballack is 31 and next World Cup will be the final international event for him.
His team was 2nd place at UEFA Champions League in 2001-2002 season as a member of Leverkusen, 2nd place at FIFA World Cup in 2002 as Germany and 2nd place again at UEFA Champions League in 2007-2008 season as a memer of Chelsea.
Besides these, he was 3rd place at FIFA World Cup 2006. He missed 1st place at the closest place.
And he got the name of "Silver Collector".

Two-time 2nd place at UEFA Champions League, 2nd and 3rd at FIFA World Cup and 2nd place at this time EURO 2008. These are really great record but the historic player always won 1st place at one or more of the above tourment.
Just like Pele, Maradona, Beckenbauer, Cruijff, Platini and Zidane.

I hope Ballack will holp up world cup and leave his name in the history in 2010.

次は2010年W杯。
現在31歳のドイツ代表バラックとしてはおそらく最後の国際大会になるのではないだろうか？
2001-02シーズンのチャンピョンズ・リーグでは当時の所属チーム、レバークーゼンで準優勝、2002年W杯でもドイツ代表として準優勝、そして07-08シーズンのチャンピョンズ・リーグも所属のチェルシーで準優勝。
他にも2006年W杯は3位など、いつも後一歩のところで、優勝を逃してきたバラック。
ついたあだ名が"シルバー･コレクター"。

チャンピョンズ・リーグ準優勝2回、W杯準優勝と3位、欧州選手権準優勝と肩書きを見ればすごいのだが、歴史に名を残す選手は必ず上記3つの国際大会のいずれかで優勝をしている。
ペレしかり、マラドーナしかり、ベッケンバウアーしかり、クライフしかり、プラティニしかり、ジダンしかり・・・。

2010年。バラックがW杯を掲げ、歴史に名を残す選手になることを切に願いながら、個人的にEURO2008を終えたいと思います。
