韓国、アメリカ散る! |
1st day of round 16.
Korea, called the strongest ever, finally lost. USA also lost led by Donovan, who is the ace striker of Los Angeles professional soccer team.
First, Korea's game. Uruguay got the first goal due to Korea's mis-connection between defense and goal keeper. After that, Korea kept atacking as if they passed group league at 1st rank. Uruguay couldn't even bring the ball forward. However, Korea also couldn't make the goal, just after 65 minutes, finally they made it.
I thought Korea would turn the game around but Uruguay changed their pace and they made final goal. Even though Park Jisung made two definitive last passes, forward couldn't make it and the game ended.
Korea's overwhelming ball possesion after the middle of first half till the 2nd goal was probably 8:2 or even 9:1. It was regrettable they could get only 1 goal.
In reverse, Uruguay made it two of few chances. In short, it's the difference of scoring ability or the difference of background history?
After all, Korea vs Japan on World Cup have to wait for future one. I'd like to expect good performance next time. I'm glad to see exciting Korean games.
One last thing, I hope Park Jisung changes his mind and keep joining natinal team a little longer.

決勝トーナメント1回戦、初日。
史上最強と言われた韓国、ついに力尽きました。そして現在住んでいるロサンゼルスのプロ・チームのエース、ドノバン率いるアメリカも散りました。
まずは韓国の試合。開始直後にDFとGKの連携ミスからウルグアイに先制点を許すも、 その後はどちらがグループ1位通過チームなのか疑問になるほどの韓国の猛攻。ウルグアイはシュートどころか前線にすらボールを運べない時間が続く。しかし韓国もなかなかゴールが決まらない。それでも後半20分過ぎ、遠かったゴールがようやく結びつく。
このままの勢いで韓国逆転か？と思っていたら、試合はウルグアイペースになり、ウルグアイが再び韓国を突き放す決勝点。その後パク・チソンが決定的なスルーパスを2本通すが、FWが決められず、そのまま試合終了の笛。
前半中盤から後半に得点を入れるまでの韓国は圧倒的なボール支配率。おそらく8：2か、もしかしたら9：1くらい。そこで1点しか取れなかったのが痛い。
逆にウルグアイは数少ないチャンスをものにした。一言で言えば、決定力の差、その背後にある歴史の差だろうか？
これでW杯本大会での日韓戦は次回以降に持ち越しとなったが、エキサイティングな試合を見せてくれた韓国、次回大会以降も期待したい。
そしてパク・チソンも代表引退せずに、もう少し頑張ってくれないだろうか？
