Highly expected match compared with Spain vs Portugal, Germany vs England was the first game today, which is the only game in round 16 that two countries who won World Cup ever faced.

Bechkam at the bench, Mick Jagger at the VIP seat and England fans dominated regular seats. However Germany won 4-1 at the end, which led them to historical record, 15 successive quater finals. 15 World cup means 60 years, so you can understand how big record this is.

The game was led by Germany goal by Klose and Podlski and England trailed it. After England 1st goal, there was another goal judged as non-goal and first half ended. (There was another non-goal in 1966 World Cup and it's also the same match).
2nd half, Germany scored 2 more goals from counter-attack while England acted on the offensive, which is just like a textbook. Final score became 4-1.

There were more talents at mid-field in England and they took the advantage but their defense lacking Ferdinand collapsed against Germany counter attack. Then England must leave the tournament.
On the other hand, German player Ozil, representative of Ballack who must leave the tournament because of injure, showed good performance so far. He has a sense of soft ball-touch and speedy pass-out which is unlike Germany in a good meaning. I was surprised at this fact that such a good player was sub.

The next game will probably against Argentina.
It's the same situation with last World Cup in Germany, quarter final. Germany won after penalty kick-out tied by 1-1. It was the best game in World Cup 2006, so I look forward to watching it again in this tournament.

決勝トーナメント1回戦スペインvsポルトガルと並ぶ屈指の好カード、そして唯一の優勝経験ありの国同士の対決となったドイツvsイングランド。

ベンチからベッカム、VIPの客席からは本日もミック・ジャガーが見守り、さらに客席の歓声はイングランドのホームのような盛り上がり方だったが、終わってみれば4-1でドイツの勝利。これでドイツは15大会連続ベスト8進出というすさまじい記録を打ち立てた。15大会というと60年になるのだから、その凄さがわかってもらえるだろう。

試合内容自体はドイツがクローゼ、ポドルスキと取るべき2人がまず2点を先制し、それをイングランドが追う展開になった。1点を返した直後に後々まで疑問を呼ぶ幻のゴールが生まれたものの、ノーゴールの判定。そのまま前半終了。(幻のゴールは66年大会の同じ対戦でもあったが、その時はイングランドが勝った)
後半は1点を追うイングランドが攻めたところをカウンターから2点ドイツが追加という教科書のような展開になり、終わってみれば4-1という大差になった。

Doubtful Goal 疑惑のゴール

中盤はイングランドのほうがタレントがそろっていることもあり、予想通り、イングランド・ペースで試合が進んだが、それを待っていたかのようなドイツのカウンターに、ファーディナンドが抜けた守備陣が崩壊し、大会を去ることとなった。
一方のドイツは負傷で大会そのものを欠場となったバラックの変わりに入ったエジルが良い味だしてます。良い意味でドイツ選手らしくないボールタッチに、スピーディーなパス出し。こんな良い選手が今まで隠れていたとはドイツもかなり選手層厚いな。

そのドイツの次の相手はおそらくアルゼンチン。
前回大会でも同じベスト8で顔を合わせていて、その時は1vs1からPKでドイツが勝利。個人的には2006年大会のベストゲームだっただけに、今大会も期待したい。
