Desperate foul 決死のハンド

Out of luck PK 不運のPK

Gyan from Ghana missed the penalty kick and it went into shoot out. (It was so close hitting cross-bar.)
It was so dramatic enough but much dramatic scene came after...

The first kicker of Ghana was again Gyan.
The guy, who failed penalty kick just a couple of minutes ago and missed first semi-final as African country, again raised his hand as a first kicker. Tears were in my eyes at this moment.
With far more pressure than Komano, Japan, he made it this time.

Good job, Gyan!

Then players from both teams made it and 3rd kicker from Ghana failed. Uruguay became delighted. But Uruguay's 4th player missed and Ghana tried again. However they failed again!!
What a dramatic game this is!
Once 5th kicker of Uruguay successed, players from Ghana collapsed. Then camera focused on Gyan. He was more than crying and mourning and tears felt from my eyes watching him.

It could not be compared with the match between Netherlands and Brazil for the game content as soccer. But this is the most impressive game ever.
Now I have to go to bed to prepare for Germany match in 7 hours.

Gyan Crying 慟哭するギャン

Delighted Uruguay 喜ぶウルグアイ

ガーナのキッカー・ギャンが外し、PK戦突入。(枠を外すのではなく、クロスバーというところが渋い)
ここまでだけでも十分過ぎるドラマだが、それ以上のドラマがすぐに起こる―――。

PK戦、ガーナの一番手、それが再びギャンだったのだ。
つい数分前にPKを外し、アフリカ勢史上初のベスト4を目の前で逃した男が1番手として名乗りを挙げたのだ。この時点で目がウルウルしてきていた。
日本の駒野とは比べ物にならないプレッシャーのはずだったが、今度は成功。

格好良いぞ、ギャン！

その後、両チームの選手が次々と成功させ、ガーナの3人目が、外す。喜ぶウルグアイ。しかしウルグアイ4人目が外し、再びガーナへ。なんと、ガーナの4人目も再び外してしまう!!
どこまでドラマだらけなんだ、この試合は！
そしてウルグアイ5人目が決めた瞬間。ガーナの選手は崩れ落ちた。そして泣き崩れるギャンをカメラが捕らえた。日本がPKで負けた直後、駒野や松井も号泣していたが、ギャンは号泣どころか、慟哭だった。それを見て自分も涙した。

すさまじいボール変化を見せられた2得点―――
PKに振り回されたドラマ性―――
そして人間ドラマ

サッカーとしての内容的にはオランダvsブラジルには及ばないものの、試合前の予想を大きく覆した、今大会、感動具合では、今のところベストゲームです。
さぁ、7時間後にはドイツ戦、気合入れて寝るぞ！
