Germany overwhelmed strong countries such as England and Argentina in this final stage but they were blown out by Spain today. Final score was 1-0 but the content of the game was much more than the score showed.
Both 1st and 2nd half, Spain dominated the game completely. Counter-attacks sometimes Germany had didn't reach shoot and there were only 2 shots on goal. Xabi Alonso eliminated German offense at early stage and Pique & Puyol blocked out the ball in front area.
Iniesta and Xavi dominated mid-field in perfect and splendid pass-works finally came back in this semi-final.
Spain created a lot of critical opportunities however, German defense blocked off by hard defense, goal keeper, Neuer centerally located. At 28 minute in 2nd half, Spain finally opened its door from corner kick by Puyol. It was perfect diving head.
No one played leading role but each member played its role completely and Spain won against Germany today. It was really difficult for Germany to attack from the counter with speedy pass-work because Spain completely dominated mid-field and they picked up all the clear-balls. Even if Muller was not suspended, the situation was same.
It was good for Germany to make speedy attack from the counter because of Ballack's absence. But Ballack was required in such situation that they couldn't make speedy game because he could make long shoot from mid-field and also had high scoring ability with heading shoot from long pass at high position.
I hope we can see Germany that Ozil shows technique while Ballack shows power and Schweinsteiger blocks offense chances.
Then final comes to the match between two countries who become World Champion never. Either Spain or Netherlands becomes the first time champion and it means they become 8th World Champion will be born.
The rest two games, I'd like to expect Klose's top-scorer in career and spectacle final.
