It was between Spain and Netherlands.
Both teams got excited and there were 14 yellow cards brought. Iniesta opened the door of champion by himself 4 minutes before extra time ended even though team-mate failed with his critical passes.
Casillas, goal keeper, wept for joy with his goal from the farthest place.

There were some scoring chances for Netherland such Robben missed the chance of 1 on 1 with goal keeper. Casillas blocked all of these. On the other hands, Spain also failed 1 on 1 chance with goal keeper but Netherlands keeper showed great saving.

Spain dominated the game but it's almost even regarding the number of goal-scoring opportunities. Iniesta scored above goal as soon as I thought it would go to penalty shoot-out.

Spain became the 8th champion in World Cup history. Besides they are the first champion who lost the first game in the group league. A lot of Spanish players cryed with delight.

MVP went to Forlan from Uruguay even though I thought it would go to Xavi or Iniesta.
Top-scorer was shared by 4 players but golden boots award went to Muller from Germany because he scored the highest assists, who also won the best youngest player.
The best goal keeper went to Casillas from Spain.

I hope German players hold that gold trophy in 2014 and Japan's good luck.

2010 FIFA World Cup最終試合。

スペイン vs オランダの組み合わせとなった決勝戦。
イエローカードが計14枚も乱れ飛ぶほど気合の入った両チームの対戦は、味方が外し続けるにも関わらず、何度も決定的なラストパスを送ってきた影の男、イニエスタが延長終了4分前に、遂に自らの足で優勝の扉をこじ開けた。

GKのカシージャスが、一番離れた場所から嬉し泣きするほど張り詰めていた試合内容だった。
オランダもロッベンがキーパーとの1対1を外すなど、何度か決定機はあったが、それをことごとく防いだのがカシージャスだった。一方のスペインもイニエスタのラストパスからキーパーとの1対1の場面があったが、こちらもオランダのキーパーが好セーブ。

試合そのものはスペインが押していたが、決定機の数で言えば、ほぼ互角だったので、これはPK戦か？と思っていた矢先、イニエスタが上述のゴール。

これでスペインがW杯史上8カ国目の王者となった。さらに初戦敗退したチームが優勝するのも史上初ということもあってか、スペインの選手の多くが嬉し涙を流していた。

さて、大会MVPはスペインのシャビか、イニエスタあたりかと思っていたら、まさかのウルグアイ・フォルランに！
混戦の得点王は5点で4人が受賞。ただしゴールデン・ブーツ賞はアシストの多かったドイツ・ミュラーが獲得。ミュラーは若手最優秀選手とあわせて2冠となった。
そして最優秀GKはスペイン・カシージャスが獲得。

2014年こそ、ドイツの選手にあの黄金のトロフィーを掲げて欲しいと切に願うと同時に日本の躍進にも期待したい。
