October/7/2010	Gamagoori is Wonderful!!
	2010年10月7日	蒲郡、万歳!!

This is the story that I visited Takeshima in Gamagoori City while I stayed in Japan for 2 weeks.
Local junior high school had sketching event and there were a lot of students making sketches. Everytime I passed them, they said "hi" to me and I replied with "hello!."

It never happened in Nagoya city. Students never do greeting to unknown people nowadays, which impressed me a bit...

Even when I was at junior high, we never did greeting to strangers. This might be because of well-trained discipline of their teachers or the mood of Gamagoori...?

Whatever, Gamagoori is wonderful!!

一時帰国中に蒲郡・竹島を訪ねた時のこと。
写生大会をしていたらしく、地元の中学生がたくさん絵を描いていた。彼らの近くを通り過ぎるたびに「こんにちは！」という挨拶が聞こえてくる。こちらもそれに応じて、「こんにちは！」と返す。

名古屋市内では、絶対に出会うことのない光景だ。
今時の中学生が見ず知らずの人に対して、挨拶をするなんて・・・。
ちょっと感動。

自分が中学生の時ですら、通りすがりの人に対して挨拶をした記憶はない。中学校の先生のしつけが良いのか、蒲郡の雰囲気がそうさせるのか？

いずれにせよ、蒲郡万歳！
