We went to San Francisco, Yosemite N.P., and Sequia N.P. last weekend with 6 friends. This was second visit to San Francisco & Yosemite after 6 years I visited before, but I might enjoy with quite fresh feeling due to the existence of new friends rather than the same with last visit. San Francisco was so cold that some people put on coats nevertheless it was summer time(The day we stayed was cold by accident).
We departured on 14:30 from Riverside after school bound for San Francisco by car. We arrived at our destination after some breaks and dinner at 22:30. Immediately we went to Twin Peaks where is famous with the beautiful night view of San Francisco and held "Suprising Birthday Party" because there were two people in our company whose birthdays were that day!! and we celebrated it!!
The next day, we ate cram chowder and crab at Fisherman's Wharf, rode on the cable car, went through the Lombard St. which is the most winding road in the world, went to Golden Gate Bridge, and finally we went to Japan Town to have a dinner and enjoyed KARAOKE.
The third day, we went to Berkley to eat lunch & did sightseeing at UCB(University of California Berkley). 5 hours later, we arrived at Yosemite N.P. but I couldn't see falls , which I was looking forward to seeing, because of drying up already. Instead, we could see the burinig sunset, which made me more satisfied than I did 5 years ago.
Sequoia & Kings Canyon N.P.,where I visited first time, was popular by the trees called Sequoia which were world largest. This park was quite different from what I had ever seen before in the point of nature beauty, with feeling exhaustion of long distance trip and I realized my age.
Yesterday, we talked about farewell which will come upon 10 days later. We have to part from the friends who traveled together to Las SanFrancisco and Los Angeles and etc, after this conversation I felt sorrow. Now the sorrow for parting from friends defeats excitement for new life in LA.
Rest of 10 days, I wish I could spend the time I have no regret for the life in UCR.

先週13日の金曜日から、16日の月曜(月曜はみんなで学校をサボった・・・)まで友達7人とサンフランシスコ、ヨセミテ国立公園、キングス・キャニオン・セコイア国立公園をめぐってきました。6年ぶりに訪れたサンフランシスコとヨセミテは前に訪れたときと同じ気持ちというよりは、まったく新しい友人達と旅したためか、まったく新鮮な気持ちで観光できたかな・・・。サンフランシスコは夏だというのにコートを着ている人がいるくらい寒かった(たまたま自分達のいた日だけだったようだが・・・)。
まず1日目は学校が終わってからの出発ということで、14時半にリバーサイドを出発して、サンフランシスコまで車で移動。途中休憩や夕食を取りつつ、到着したのが、22時半。その後すぐに、ツイン・ピークスというサンフランシスコの有名な夜景スポットに行き、サプライズ・バースデー・パーティーを開いた。なんと7人の仲間のうち、この日が誕生日の人が2人もいて、それを祝った。
翌日はフィッシャー・マンズ・ワーフでクラム・チャウダーや蟹を食べて、ケーブルカーに乗り、世界一曲がりくねった道であるロンバート・ストリートを見て、ゴールデン・ゲート・ブリッジを見て、最後はジャパン・タウンで夕食＆カラオケ。
3日目はサンフランシスコを出発して、バークレーで昼食&UCB観光。その後、5時間かけてヨセミテ国立公園へ行き、園内を観光。楽しみにしていた滝は時期が遅くてすべて枯渇していて見れなかったけど、燃えるような夕陽を見ることができ、個人的には5年前の訪問よりも満足の行く内容だった。
今回初めて訪れたキングス・キャニオン・セコイア国立公園は世界で最大の大きさを誇るセコイアという名の樹木で有名な公園で、今までに見た自然美とはまた違った自然美を楽しみつつ、長旅の疲れを感じることで、年取ったなぁと痛感したた場所でもありました。
今までにラスベガスやロサンゼルスをはじめ、いろいろなところを旅してきた仲間ともあと2週間でお別れだなぁという話を昨日する機会があって、かなり寂しくなった。今は10日後に始まるLA生活にワクワクするよりは、別れを悲しむ気持ちのほうが正直、かなり高い。
残り10日間、悔いのない別れができるような生活をしたいなあと思う今日この頃です。
