LACCでの授業 3 |
Regarding to Speech 72, I took this class because I wanted to take one English class at minimum and because I want to improve my speaking skill rather than reading or writing. This class is held from 18:50 to 22:00, therefore we have elder people in our class and there are many nationalities like Armenian, Mexican, Korean, Chinese, and Thaiwanees.
We have a textbook for this class but sometimes we spend on 1 week or 2 weeks about something unrelated to textbook (for example, two weeks ago, teacher told us to bring somthing artistic and talk, which is aiming to practice speech and teacher's hobby, and I brought a picture of soccer player playing Over-Head Kick and ORIGAMI, "paper crane").
Different from the lecture I took in Japan, it is really enjoyable and I'm looking forward to going to school.
That's over about The contents of LACC's classes. I hope keenly to go to see a moive on weekend currently.

Recently I got a official report from UCR and I could get "HIGH HONOR",which had been my goal from the begining of the USA life.

Speech72のクラスはとりあえず英語の授業をひとつくらいは取っておきたい、それとReadingよりもListeningとSpeakingを伸ばしたいと思って受けているのですが、毎週水曜日の夜6時50分から10時までという時間帯もあり、社会人もいて、おじいちゃんもいます。国籍も幅広く、アルメニア人、メキシコ人、韓国人、中国人、台湾人といった感じです。
講義内容は教科書があるにはあって、それを元に進めているのですが、たまに教科書とはまったく関係ない内容で1週間、2週間過ごしたりしています(例えば、先々週は何でもいいから芸術作品を作ってきてそれについて話せ、という内容の授業でした。スピーチの練習と先生の趣味ということで、こういった授業内容になったわけですが、自分はオーバー・ヘッド・キックをしているサッカー選手の絵を描いて、折鶴を持って行きました)。
日本で受けていた英語の授業とはまったく違って、授業が楽しいものだということを感じることのできる授業で、毎週行くのが楽しみな内容です。
以上、LACCの授業内容でした。早く週末に映画を見に行けるくらいの余裕を持てるようになりたいと痛切に願う今日この頃です。
追伸：
最近UCRから成績表が届きました。アメリカ生活当初から目標にしていた"成績優秀者"になることができました！！
