I'm taking Winter session this winter as I did last year. I'm taking not only one class but 2 classes, English and American history, which makes me study hard. Every weekend is absorbed in study for these 2 classes.
The other day, we got a mid-term and now I can feel better.
So, I'd like to talk about the difference of the level of study between USA and Japan.
I think it is really hard that I'm doing now in Winter session, but it is not so hard if I can do this in Japanese. The tough thing is that I must read in English and I must memorize in English. And there is no difference that I did in Japan such as I studied Japanese in Japanese and I memorized world history.
I might mention this before in USA Times or "Column", the hardest studying student in the world is Japanese high school student in the third grade who are going to high level high school.
People say that American college student study hard, but I have to wonder if the content is hard or difficult? I had a chance to see the textbook of mathmatics, the content they study in 1st year in college was the same with that Japanese high school students, who are in their 1st or 2nd grade, study. It's too easy.
I believe if they goes to junior or senior or graduate school, it'll become more difficult but it natural because it is their major.
