What I think on this point is that how different the days of my university are from current period. It was 6 years ago when I was a university student.
Thinking about Japanese university students, they escape from the class using "DAI-HEN" that means other students reply in attendance for one students, some are absorbed in part-time job, some try to participate in club activities eagerly, and others enjoy blind-date. I don't know if it is due to the repulsion of the hard studying days of high school but they look enjoying happy time.

Then, thinking about key items for them; one is cell phone that is the way of communication with friends and steady, one is Internet for collecting information and homework staff, one is a car that is required to join in the club activities and go somewhere with friends and steady, and another is part-time job to earn money.
In our days, there were cell phones even though the form of them had changed. Also Internet already exisited then. Cars have been for a long time, and they do part-time job whenever the era is.
Besides of these, we had blind dates and went to Karaoke and drove. I also tried to play billiyards and mahjong a little. What I want to say is that there is not so big difference between the students 6 years ago and the students in present time.

さて、そこで思うのが、自分が大学生をしていた時と今の大学生の生活ってどれくらい違うんだろう？ってこと。自分が大学生だったのは(4年は就活と海外旅行で終わってしまったので、実質3年生と考えると)、もう6年前。
日本の大学生といえば、代返で授業を休んで、バイトに明け暮れたり、サークル活動に燃えたり、合コンしたり、って感じで、受験勉強の反動なのかどうか、とりあえず、楽しい時間をエンジョイしている、というイメージが強い。

そして日本の大学生のキー・アイテムは何か？と考えると、携帯電話＝友達や恋人との連絡手段、インターネット＝情報収集や宿題提出手段、車＝サークル活動や遊びに必要、アルバイト＝すべての資金源、といったところだろうか？
携帯は形は変われど、自分たちの時代にもあったし(自分はつかまりたくないので持たなかったが・・・)、インターネットも普及していた。車はずいぶんと前から存在しているし、アルバイトもいつの時代でも行われてきたこと。
それ以外にも、合コンも人並みにしてたし、カラオケも行ったし、ドライブもした(後は男子ってことで、ビリヤードと麻雀も少々かじった・・・)。何が言いたいかというと、今の大学生と6年前の大学生って、そんなに変わってないんじゃないか？ってこと。
