Finally, the current third wave changed what?
Is that correct that I can say nobody knows the answer because it is going on now? There is no room to doubt and it is absolutely true that the beginning of this third wave is Computer and Internet. However, it is really ironic that this Internet was originally invented for war.
What was brought by IT Revolution are too many to mention. For example, we can do money transaction on Internet. Much more familiar, e-mail can be the representative of this. Once, we wrote mail or called while now we just e-mail attaching some files, which brought us huge adavantage. Such like photos from cell phone, and Excel file that is in use in business, car navigation system, booking system of TV recording, and movie chat on Internet, and so on. We live in really convenient world now. Regarding to the life that we, who live in foreign country, get information from Japan, the effect of this third wave is incalculable.
There are some other things but what is the biggest one? I think that the biggest things that IT revolution brought us is "intangible". "Intangible" gets to be business gradually. We just call it "CONTENTS BUSINESS", which was not business ever or was business only for some privileged classes. Now we can reach it, we can do it in this third wave.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what this wave brings us.

そして現在進行形の第3の波は、一体何を変えたのだろうか？
それはまだ進行形であるがゆえに、今はまだわからないというのが正解だろうか？わかりやすいところでいえば、この波の始まりがコンピュータとインターネットであることは間違いないし、疑いようもない。しかし、このインターネットがもともとは軍事目的のために開発されたものであるというのは、皮肉な話だ。
情報革命によってもたらされたもの。あげだせばきりがない。例えば、銀行。いまやインターネット上でお金のやり取りができてしまう。もっと身近なところでいえば、eメールはまさに代表選手といえる。昔であれば、手紙、あるいは電話でやり取りしていたものがeメールとそれにファイルを添付することで、ものすごい利便性を得ることになった。例えばそれが携帯電話の写真であったり、ビジネスで必要なExcelファイルだったり・・・。カーナビ、テレビの予約録画、映像チャットなど、本当に便利な世の中になってきた。海外から日本の情報を得るという生活に関していれば、この"第3の波"がもたらした影響は計り知れない。
他にもいくつものあるのだが、一番大きなものは何か？情報革命によって、もたらされた大きな変化は、"無形"。"無形"のものが商売になるようになってきた。いわゆる"コンテンツ"とよばれるものだ。今までは絶対に商売になりえなかった、あるいはごく一部の特権階級にしか付与されなかったチャンスが一般人にも回ってくるようになったのだ。

今後、この波がどのような変化を私たちにもたらしてくれるのか？非常に楽しみである。
