Another upset was Italy vs USA.
It might not be called as upset, they finished the game in tie 1-1. But this is not noral tie game. Because USA dominated the game even though they were just 9 players...

The game began with Italian beautiful goal but the imprregnable defenders did own goal. After this, the game became much fun because three players in total fouled out with red cards.
USA that had less players controled the game and they got a goal once that became offside foul.

On the other hand, nevertheless Italy had much players, they couldn't attack as they wanted. When they finally did shoots, American goal keeper showed great performances and Italy couldn't get a goal. In the end, they tied with the score 1-1.

So who is the man of the match of this game? That is absolutely the main judge who presented red card three times.

Judge 1 主審 1

The first one was for Italy against hitting by the elbow for the face of USA player.
Next one was for USA against delayed tackle and charging with the bottom of the spike shoes.
The last one was for also USA against delayed tackle, but I think it shouldn't be red but should be yellow card.
Besides, the judge overlooked the foul of Italy in penalty area. He also canceled USA's goal for offside, which was shutting out the eye of goal keeper rather than offside. He will be criticized by USA media.

After the 2nd matches were over, there were hope for final stage to all the team in Group E. This is "UPSET"!! And either Italy or Czech have a great possibility to lose, then this group became the "Death Group" instead of Group C.

そしてもう1つの波乱。イタリアvsアメリカ。
波乱と呼ぶほどでもないのかもしれないけど、1-1の引き分け。しかしただの引き分けではない。アメリカの方がゲームを支配していた。しかも9人で・・・。

試合はイタリアが綺麗なゴールを決めたかと思えば、鉄壁のはずの守備陣がオウン・ゴール。この後、一気に試合が面白くなった。両チームあわせて3人がレッド･カードで一発退場という荒れた試合になったからだ。
人数が少ないアメリカの方がゲームを支配し(両チームあわせて3人退場したため、中盤はほぼなかったが・・・)、幻となってしまったものの、一度はゴールを奪った。
一方のイタリアは人数が1人多いにも関わらず、攻めらしい攻めができない。ようやくシュートを放ったと思えば、アメリカのGKの好セーブにあい、得点できず、1-1のまま、引き分けに終わった。

さて、この試合の主役は誰か？間違いなく、3枚のレッド･カードを出した主審である。

最初のレッド･カードはイタリアだった。肘打ちを相手の顔面に食らわせた選手。
次のレッド･カードはアメリカ。ディレイド・タックル＋足の裏を見せた状態で相手の足を削ったということで、のレッド･カード。
そして3枚目のレッド･カードもアメリカ。後半開始早々、これもディレイド･タックルに対するカードだったが、このカードはレッドではなく、イエローでよかったのではないか？と思う。

しかも、途中イタリアDFのPKになるはずのハンドを見逃し、アメリカのゴールをオフサイドの判定で取り消したり(これはオフサイドというよりは、GKの視界を遮ったため)、とりあえず、この主審はアメリカ側からものすごい批判をくらうことは間違いない。

2試合目終了の時点で、このグループEはどのチームにも決勝トーナメント進出の可能性が残っているという、これぞまさに"波乱"といった展開になってきた。しかもイタリア、チェコのどちらかが消える可能性が極めて高く、グループCに変わって、"死の組"の様相を呈してきた感じだ。
