Half of the tournament was over and final stage began today. The first game of best 16 was Germany, 1st place in Group A, vs Sweden, 2nd place in Group B.
Germany was bless in combination of opponents in group league. So this was the truely challenge game to testify their strength.

The game moved in the early time. Klose who is current top scorer, showed his ability of goal-hunter. He fainted 2 defenders with quick turn and faced with goal keeper 1-by-1. It was saved by goal keeper but partner of 2-top, Podolski kicked the ball into goal net!

2nd goal was also brought by Klose. He showed different gifts from goal-hunter this time. He attracted 3 defenders in his dribble and assisted to Podolski who was free from defender!
Germany got 2 goals in first 12 minutes and they kept attacking. But something changed when one Swedish players fouled out, which let this battle 11 vs 10. I though this became advantage for Germany. But they couldn't attack as they did it before.
Ballack shot from middle-range trying to got back the rhythm and most of his shoots went to inside of the goal-frame but Swedish goal keeper saved every time. But Germany was still Germany. They didn't give opponents any critical chance except penalty kick that was out of goal and that moment, the game was decided.

As a result, Germany became the first team going to best 8. This is a great record that they have been best 8 in 14 continuous tournaments.
Differnt from other Germany national teams in history, they are very offensice team led by "Golden Falcon" Coach Klinsman who is historical striker "Bomber" Muler in Germany. 2 top got geared each other, and the control of mid-field is perfect. Defense became better and better after 1st match. They are really strong.

大会も折り返し地点を過ぎ、負けたら終わりの今日から決勝トーナメントが始まった。その第1試合はA組1位の地元ドイツとB組2位のスウェーデン。
グループ･リーグは組み合わせに恵まれた感もあったドイツ。本当の意味での実力が試される試合となった。

試合は開始早々、動いた。現在得点王のクローゼが、まずは点取り屋としての能力を見せ、敵DF2人を素早い反転で交わし、GKと1対1になり、防がれたものの、そのこぼれ玉を2トップの相棒ポドルスキがゴールに突き刺した！

そして2点目もクローゼから・・・。今回は点取り屋以外の能力を見せ、ドリブルで敵DF3人をひきつけて、フリーになったポドルスキにアシスト！
開始12分で2得点を入れ、その後も押し続けるドイツ。しかも相手が1人退場になり、11対10になり、さらにドイツ有利の展開・・・。と思いきや、ここからドイツがおかしくなる。相手が1人少なくなって有利のはずなのに、それまでのように攻められなくなってしまった。

何とかリズムを取り戻そうと、バラックがミドル･シュートをこれでもかというくらいに放ち、大半がゴールの枠に飛んだが、スウェーデンのGKにことごとく防がれてしまった。とはいえ、そこはさすがドイツ。相手に危ない場面を与えることなく、後半に与えたPKを相手が外した時点で勝負は決まった。

これでドイツはベスト8一番乗り。14大会連続の8強入りというすさまじい記録だ。
ドイツでも"爆撃機"ミュラーに次いで、歴史に名を残すストライカーだった"黄金の隼"クリンスマン監督率いる今回のドイツは、歴代ドイツ代表とは違い、攻撃的なチームだ。FW2人がかみ合い、中盤の支配力も完璧。守備陣も開幕戦以降はそつなくこなし、強いの一言に尽きる。
