Watching this game taught me that soccer was more than just sports.

Looking back the history of soccer, there were many tragedies such as war and murder. For recent example, Colombian player, who did own goal in World Cup 94 USA, was shot to die. Is there any other sports that has such bloody history?
(In opposite, two countries in war each other called a truce during the game in World Cup only to see the game...)

Man of the Match? マン・オブ・ザ・マッチ？

Today's game was so close to scuffle or scrimmage (actually players pushed to down...), even worse case, both fans had a chance to fight.
As a conclusion above, I'd like to award the judge "Man of the Match" in my opinion.

しかし、この試合を見て、サッカーというスポーツが、ただのスポーツ以上のものであるということを改めて教えられた。

サッカーにおける過去の歴史を見てみると、戦争を引き起こしたり、殺人を引き起こしたり、悲惨な事件を幾度となく引き起こしてきました。最近の例だと、94年アメリカ大会でオウン・ゴールを入れてしまったコロンビアの選手が帰国後に射殺されるという悲劇も起きています。他のどんなスポーツにこのような血の歴史があるでしょう？
(逆に戦争をしていた国がW杯の試合を見るためだけに、試合中だけ休戦したなんて話もあったりもしたりする・・・)。
今日の試合も、一歩間違えば選手同士の乱闘騒ぎ(実際、突き飛ばしあったりしてたし・・・)、さらにサポーター同士の闘争へと発展しかねない状況だった。
そういうわけで、個人的には、そんな試合をうまく裁いた主審にマン･オブ･ザ･マッチを授与したい。
