2nd game of semi-final was between Portugal who aims to go to final for the first time in the history and France who tries to get 2nd championship.
Star players in both team, Zidane and Figo, were both born in 1972 and they received both All European Footballer of the Year Award and FIFA World Players of the Year. They were also team-mate in Real Madrid once in Spain. I was looking forward to seeing today's game because these 2 players would show great battle.

Both team couldn't create goal chance in 1st half but France got a penalty kick by Henry being felt down. Zidane decided this PK and France took a lead. This was opposite way of the last game against Brazil that Zidane sent a last pass to Henry.
2nd half, Portugal kept attacking with Cristiano Ronaldo as a core but they couldn't broke French wall. There was only one critical moment. Goal keeper fumbled the free-kick of C.Ronaldo and Figo did a headiing shoot but it went out of goal.

準決勝第2試合。初の決勝進出を狙うポルトガルと2度目の優勝を狙うフランスの対戦となった。
両チームのスター、ジダンとフィーゴは共に同じ1972年生まれで、欧州年間最優秀選手、FIFA世界最優秀選手を受賞したことがある世界屈指の選手であり、さらにかつてはスペインのレアル・マドリードではチームメートでもあった。
そして2人とも1度は代表から引退したものの、今回のW杯に向けて復帰したという点でも似ている。そんな2人の真剣勝負が見られるということで、楽しみにしていた。

前半はどちらもこれといった決定機を生み出すことはできなかったが、フランスがアンリがもらったPKをジダンが決め、先制！前回のブラジル戦でジダン→アンリの形でゴールをしたが、今回はその逆の形となった。(しかしポルトガルのGK、すげぇ惜しかった。あと数cmってくらいの距離だったのに・・・。イングランド戦のPK3本止めたのもまぐれじゃないな、こりゃ・・・)
後半、ポルトガルは1点を追い、クリスチャーノ・ロナウドを中心に一方的に攻めまくるが、フランスの堅い守備を崩せない。決定機を作れたのはわずかに一度。C.ロナウドのすさまじいフリー･キックをキーパーがはじき、フィーゴがヘディングで狙うが枠を外れてしまった。
その後はフランスがポルトガルの攻撃をしのぎ、決勝進出を決めた。
