On the shooting of "MANTIS" at the end of last year, I hired a still photographer, who shot the shooting scenery. I got the photos the other day, and I'd like to introduce some of them this time.

First of all, there should be time to set up the lighting or stage between one shooting and another shooting. Actors have to wait at that time. Because of the earliness show-up time in the morning, some photos captured sleeping people.
Actors also made their characters talking each other among these time. They sometimes talk about something having no relation with acting...

I noticed staffs' efforts that I hadn't noticed on the set from these photos. It might be gaffer, grip, boomer, AD, and make-up artists... I recognized that they were really hard-workers.

It reminded me that a movie can't be made alone.

昨年末に撮影した短編映画「MANTIS」では、スチルカメラマンという撮影風景の写真を撮影するカメラマンの人に何枚か写真を撮ってもらっていました。先日、その写真を入手したので、今回はその中からいくつかを紹介したいと思います。

まずは撮影と撮影の間は照明の設定や舞台設定といった時間が必要であり、その間当然のことながら、役者は待ち時間となります。今回の撮影は割と朝早かったためか、その待ち時間に眠っている光景が今回の写真には収められていました。
また、役者同士で会話をしながら、役作りをしていったりするといったこともこの待ち時間に行われています。まったく役作りに関係のない世間話をしていたりすることもありますが・・・。

でもって、今回の写真を見て思ったのが、撮影時には気づかなかったスタッフの頑張り。それは照明だったり、音声だったり、ADだったり、メークだったり・・・。自分が見ていないところでも、頑張っていてくれるんだなぁ、というのを改めて認識しました。

やはり良い映画というのは1人では作れないなぁと再認識した今回のスチル写真でした。
