Transformers トランスフォーマー

There was a expectation that summer movies in 2007 would make the history. But I never expect such huge one...

Besides 3 favorites, "Spiderman", "Shrek" and "Pirates", part 3 titles went over $300 millions, "Transformers" also passed the line. Moreover, "Harry Potter" passed $200 millions and came close to $300 millions.
"Ratatouille" is almost $200 now and "Bourne Ultimatum" which was just released in this month, would also like to pass over $200 millions.
Including all of above, at this day August 23 2007, 14 titles passed $100 millions this summer and "Evan Almighty" and "Rush Hour 3" will also across this line, too. In total, it comes to 16 films.

There are 26 titles that passed $300 millions in US and 4 of these are released in this summer 2007. There were only 1 titles last year and 2 years ago. This seems to be small but in percentage, it is almost 20%.

Personally, the best movies of this summer are "Transfomers" in entertainment meaning, while "Bourne" is as an film-maker.

Bourne Ultimatum ボーン･アルティメイタム

Live Free or Die Hard ダイハード4.0

2007年の夏映画は公開前から史上最大規模のものになると予想はあったが、果たしてここまでの結果になるとは・・・。

昨年から本命視されていた3作「スパイダーマン」「シュレック」「パイレーツ」のパート3作が興行収入で3億ドルを超えただけでなく、「トランスフォーマー」も3億ドルを超えた。さらに「ハリポタ」も2億ドルを超え、3億ドルも間近。
そして「レミーのおいしいレストラン」も2億ドルまで後一歩だし、8月に公開されたばかりの「ボーン･アルティメイタム」も2億ドルを超えそう。
これらを含む1億ドル突破作品の総数は、5月4日の「スパイダーマン3」以降の夏映画全体で、8月23日時点で14本。さらに「エバン・オールマイティ」と「ラッシュ・アワー3」も1億ドルを超えることを考えて、16本になる。

今までにアメリカ国内で3億ドルを超えた作品が26本あるが、そのうち4本がこの夏に公開されたもの(ちなみに、一昨年、昨年は1本のみ)。これって小さいように思えて、かなりの数。割合に直せば、約2割。10本中2本が今年公開作品ってことになる。

個人的に、この夏の一押しはエンターテイメント大作という意味では「トランスフォーマー」、そして映画人としてという意味では「ボーン・アルティメイタム」の2作。
大いに盛り上がった夏映画2007、果たして来年の夏はどうなるんでしょうか？とりあえずの大本命は「インディー・ジョーンズ4」でしょうか？
