I went to Santa Barbara International Film Festival last weekend on business.

I think this festival is not so famous in Japan, however this is the first big festival after Oscar nomination announced and various hollywood stars visit every year. This year welcomes 24th and Kate Winslet, winner of 2 Golden Globe Awards this year, Clint Eastwood, David Fincher, Mickey Rourke and Kristen Scott Thomas join this year as award winner.
On the weekend I visited, there was a award ceremony for this year's Oscar nominee, Penelope Cruz who is one of my favorite.

She is one of the five top actress in Hollywood that I'd like to meet, and she is the third one following Keira Knightley、Charlize Theon.
Charlize Theron has a divine beauty as goddess while Penelope has a charm and she is someone whom I feel a similar nervous as I meet my favorite well-known girl, rather than she is an actress. (This is absolutely my delusion...)

She is surely beautiful in the movie but she shows tremendous radiance as a Hollywood star when I see her in a close range as Charlize Theron did. It comes from another dimension in a crowd of normal people. Last ： Next

先週末、仕事でサンタバーバラ国際映画祭に参加してきました。

日本ではあまり知られてないかもしれませんが、アカデミー賞ノミネート発表後、最初の大きな映画祭ということもあり、毎年大物ハリウッド･スターが訪れ、24回目の今年はゴールデン･グローブでW受賞したケイト・ウィンスレット、クリント･イーストウッド、デビット・フィンチャー、ミッキー・ローク、クリスティン・スコット・トーマスといった面々が、映画祭のアワード受賞者として、参加。
でもって、自分が訪れた週末は、アカデミー助演女優賞にノミネートされた憧れの女優、ペネロペ・クルスの授賞式があり、参加してきました。

ハリウッドで会いたい女優5本指に入る女優さんの中で、実際に会ったのはキーラ・ナイトレイ、シャリーズ・セロンについで彼女が3人目。
シャリーズ・セロンには"女神"のような神々しさがあったが、ペネロペの場合は、どちらかというと"子悪魔"のような魅力があり、女優さんに会うというよりは、むしろ好きな女性に会う時に似た緊張感があった。(個人的妄想120%)

もちろん映画の中に登場する彼女はとても綺麗なのだが、シャリーズ・セロン同様、至近距離で会った時に放つハリウッド･スターとしてのオーラは、ハンパない。一般人が大勢いる中では別次元のそれで、一段と素晴らしい。
