It will be translated as "GORAKU" in Japanese. There are various elements; one of them is movie, music and TV... It's common knowledge for industry people that US leads all of these three industry.
For example, Hollywood movies are seen worldwie and successful both sales-wise and publicity-wise. However when it comes to opposite way, foreign films in US, there is no title. There are some films screened in US theaters but no films will make $100,000,000, which is the standard for the "HIT" movie and popularity is quite low. This situation is same for both music and TV industry.
The only exceptions are re-make and Japanese animations.
By the way, there are well-known awards for each 3 industry. Academy Awards for movie, Grammy Awards for music, and Emmy Awards for TV.
Academy Awards is really popular in Japan because somethings related with Japan were nominated or won awards in the past like Ken Watanabe, Rinko Kikuchi or winning film "Departure."
Last weekend, Grammy winners were announced. It was the historic first that 4 Japanese won it including Taku Matsumoto from B'z and became big exposure on Japanese media. I was really surprised at finding a friend's name in the winners list.
Also another friend is nominated for Emmy Awards. Watching their photos and movies walking world-famous red carpet, I thought I would make it in the future.
I had a delusion that I could walk the Academy Awards red carpet with these two someday on this Saturday afternoon. Such delusion is the real joy of "Entertainment!!"
