The Day 4, final day of enjoying the music in Tennessee and cave in Kentucky.

We need to return the car by 8am, we woke up at 7am and went to the airport. Our flight was scheduled as leaving 11:47am and arriving 5:55pm via Atlanta. After the self check-in, we went to check-in counter to deposit the baggage. At the counter, an attendant told us the flight for Atlanta can land but no chance to depart because of a storm, and he offered free-transfer to the direct flight to Los Angeles. Then our flight became the one, leaving Memphis at 9:30am and arriving Los Angeles at 11:48am.

One of the Seven Wonders of the airplane travel, via-flight is cheaper than direct-flight (I'm not sure if there are seven wonders of flight...), this time I could feel like I got an up-grade because of this flight change.
Therefore, we arrived at Los Angeles before 12pm...

We took a bus to get to the place where I parked my car. There were 4 flight attendants from one of Japanese airlines. From their conversation, it seemed they were J?L, not A?A, and they talked about the early retirement of the captain whose aga is 58.
I never thought that I would hear about the re-organization of J?L at the end of the travel.

Looking back, Memphis was not good as I expected but Nashville made me feel I should come back because of its nostalgia. Mammothe Cave was also great place to visit again when I go to Atlanta sometime, 4 hour drives from Atlanta.

Next trip should be Mexico on Thanksgiving or the end of the year?

テネシー州で音楽を・・・、ケンタッキーで洞窟を楽しむ旅、最終目。

8時までにレンタカーを返却しなければ行けなかったので、7時起きで空港へ向かった。11時47分の飛行機でアトランタ経由でLAに17時55分着の予定で、セルフ・チェックインを済ませて、機内預け入れ荷物をカウンターに持っていくと係りの人がアトランタは嵐が来ていて、着陸はできるが離陸ができない状態だということで、無料でLAへの直行便に変えてくれるというので、9時半メンフィス発・11時48分LA着の便を迷わずお願い。

飛行機の七不思議(そんなものあるかどうか知らないが・・・)の1つに、直行便より経由便のほうが安いというのがあるのだが、今回は無料で直行便に変更ということでアップグレードしてもったような感覚にさせてもらった。
というわけでLAには12時前に到着したのだった・・・。

空港から車を停めていた場所までバスで向かったのだが、そのバスに日系航空会社のCA(キャビン･アテンダント)4人組が乗っていた。話の内容から察するにA○Aではなく、J○Lだったのだが、58歳のキャプテンが早期退職したらしく、その話で盛り上がっていた。
旅の終わりに、J○Lの経営再建の話を聞くとは思いもしなかった。

振り返ってみるとメンフィスは正直、いまいちだったが、ナッシュビルは古き良きアメリカを感じることができて、また訪れたいと思ったし、マンモス・ケーブも別のツアーに参加してみたいと感じたので、アトランタに行く際に、また訪れるのもありかな？(アトランタから車で4時間)と思う。

次の旅行はサンクスギビングの4連休か、年末にメキシコにでも行こうかな？
