Day 4, woke up at 9am.

Weather forecast had told it rained all day but rain stopped and it was cloudy, I went to Xochimilco, World Heritage. It is Mexican Venice but it is completely different from original Venice. Because of the cloudy weather after the rain, there were less tourist and no ship of selling items and no songs from mariachi. The only sound I could hear was bids like "Hey amigo! why don't you ride on my boat?" It was already over as tourist spot even though it was better visiting sunny day but I thought I never come back here. It was a huge mystery for my why this place was registered to World Heritage.

After leaving from Xochimilco, I came back to the hostel and walked down to Momument of Revolution. On the way it drizzled but I kept walking. It reminded me Arc de Triumph in Paris, France, with its huge appearance. This tower had a long line to get on elevator different from Xochimilco.

Then riding on subway, I went to zocalo where I visited on the 1st day again... I headed for National Palace according to the information I got at the hostel. I found that I need to leave my staff into locker at the entrance but I didn't have coins for locker. So I went back to the plaza and bought some food and got coins.
Returning to the palace and I could deposit my bag into the locker this time. Ths palace had a similar atmosphere with Versailles in France. The wall painting called "Mexican History" indicate freemason and became the feature of the palace.




On the way back to the hostel, I found obvious fake Mickey & Minny. It made me think here is China? but it was Mexico. Then I went to the movie theater close to the hostel to see Spanish poster of Hollywood films.

4日目、9時起床。

天気予報では1日中雨だったが、雨が上がり、曇りだったので、世界遺産であるソチミルコを訪れた。メキシコ版ベニスとでも言うべき水郷。ただ雰囲気はまったく違う。晴れていればまた違ったのかもしれないが、雨上がりで他の観光客もほとんどおらず、物売りの船も出ていない状況でマリアッティの歌声も聞こえてこない・・・。聞こえてくるのは船に乗らないか？の勧誘のしつこい誘い声だけ。一言で言うならば、観光地としては終わっていた(晴れの日に来れば違ったかもしれないが、もう一度来たいとは思わない)。なぜここが世界遺産に登録されたのか？非常に謎だ・・・。

ソチミルコを後にし、一旦宿に戻る。そして宿の近くの革命記念塔まで歩いた。途中小雨が振り出したが、気にせずに目的に向かう。フランス・パリの凱旋門を思わせる大きな塔。こちらの塔はソチミルコとは違い、塔に登るためのエレベーターに行列が出来ていた。

続いて、地下鉄に乗り、初日に訪れたソカロへ再び・・・。宿で聞いた情報を元にソカロに併設する国立宮殿に向かう。入口で荷物をロッカーに預けなければいけないことがわかったが、ロッカーはコインのみ受付のため、札しか持っていなかった自分は入れない。再びソカロに戻り、屋台でよくわからない食べ物を購入し、小銭をゲット！

国立宮殿に戻り、今度は無事にロッカーに荷物を預けられた。この宮殿はフランスのベルサイユ宮殿を思わせる造り。「メキシコの歴史」と呼ばれる壁画にはフリーメイソンを示すものが描かれていて、この宮殿の目玉となっている。




宿に戻る途中、あからさまな偽ミッキー＆ミニーを発見。一瞬ここは中国か？と思わされたが、やはりメキシコだった。そして宿の近くにあった映画館にスペイン語のポスターを見に足を運んだ。
