Finally, World Cup comes into the cream. Quarter final began today with 8 countries; 6 out of these, has experienced championship before. The first game was the best match among 4 quarter final matches. Germany who won championship 3 times against Argentina who won twice. These 2 teams are the best 2 teams in this World Cup so far, so it can be said that this game is the final in reality.

Argentina kept ball for thier team with 7-3 in 1st half but they couldn't only create a goal chance but they even couldn't do one shoot. German goal keeper Lehmann didn't touch the ball for Argentine shoot at all.

This proved that German defense was so good while German offense missed a lot in pass-work and they could carry the ball till the mid-field but they couldn't make it to their forward. This was because Argentine players deleted all the pass courses. It was just like the same pressing soccer with the one that I saw in the match Switzerland vs Ukraine. As I thought same thing in Ukraine's game, I wondered if they could keep their stamina till the end.
Germany could keep the ball only 30% however, they could create a critical chance. Schneider sent a last pass to Ballack who ran into goal area without defense and he shot by his head. The ball went out of goal mouse. This was the biggest chance for both teams in 1st half.

いよいよ佳境に入ったW杯。今日から過去に優勝経験を持つ6カ国を含めた8カ国による準々決勝です。その第1試合がこの4試合ある準々決勝の中で一番の好カード。優勝3回のドイツと2回のアルゼンチン。そして、今大会、ここまでの戦いを見るかぎり、実力的には1、2位のチーム同士の戦い。事実上の決勝戦といっても過言ではない。

試合は前半はアルゼンチンが7:3の割合でボールをキープするが、決定的チャンスを作れないどころか、シュートすら打てない。ドイツのGKレーマンがアルゼンチンのシュートに対して、ボールに触れた回数は"0"だった。

ドイツのDFのレベルが高かったわけだが、一方のドイツの攻めは自陣内でのパスまわしにミスが多く、中盤まではボールが行くものの、FWまでボールが行くことは皆無だった。というのも、アルゼンチンの選手がパスコースをすべて消していたため。まるでスイスvsウクライナ戦のウクライナのプレスを再現しているかのようだった。ウクライナの時も、思ったがこれで最後まで持つのだろうか？という疑惑を感じずにはいられなかったが・・・。
それでも30%しかボールをまわせなかったドイツの方に決定機が訪れた。シュナイダーからのパスをゴール前に走りこんだバラックがフリーの状態で、ドンピシャのヘッド。ボールはゴールの枠に入らなかったが、両チームを通して前半一番のチャンスだった。
