Regarding to MVP, looking back the MVP history, it was not always chosen from the champion team. For example, in 2002, German goal keeper Kahn got this award despite of 2nd place, and in 1998, Brazilian forward Ronaldo did the same. But all the winner was selected from the team in best 4.
Therefore, let's see the candidates team by team. First is Germany. Germany is either "Emperor" Ballack or possible Top-Scorer Klose.
Next is Italy, but there is no specific player. The most possible one is goal keeper Buffon but the possibility that goal keeper will the MVP in 2 successive tournaments is extremely low. So there is only one chance that Italian player will be the MVP in case they don't forgive goals any more.
Third is Portugal but this country also has no candidate. In name, Figo will be the one but he didn't show great performance so far and he was sometimes substituted. So there is a few chances that Portuguese player get the MVP.
The last one is France. In this team, Zidane is the absolute player. In 1998, France won the championship, nevertheless, Ronaldo (Brazil) got the MVP. So if France won the championship, this time Zidane will be the one. Even if they become 2nd place, Zidane has high possibilty considering that he will stop his career.
In my conclusion, Top-Scorer will be taken by Klose and MVP will be contested by Klose, Ballack, Buffon, and Zidane.
